There is no drama in the box score and that is its own kind of story. Ezekiel Elliott scored 10 on Thursday night, Naberhood led from that moment and never trailed, and by the end of the one o'clock window it was 100 to 65 with fourteen of their men already finished. Then Naberhood scored nothing at all for the rest of the weekend. Not a point. The Alligators closed to within 9 on a Jason Myers field goal and four other men, ran out of players, and lost 100 to 90. Patrick Mahomes was the best man on the field at 97 above replacement and he spent the afternoon watching a team that had stopped playing hold a lead it built before lunch.
