The commissioner, and the most active trader the league has ever had by a distance: 37 of the 58 trades on file. Never finished last in nineteen seasons, and has twelve top-four finishes, more than anyone.
Pete's franchise is defined by one keeper decision made over and over. He held Tyreek Hill for ten straight seasons, 113 starts, 484 points above replacement, the third most valuable career in league history, and won titles in 2021 and 2022 with Hill on the roster. It is the longest hold at a skill position in the archive, and it began as a week-ten waiver claim in 2016 that returned fourteen points that autumn.
The pattern repeats. Jimmy Graham for eight seasons, Brandon Marshall for eight, A.J. Brown for seven: this is the only franchise with three separate holds of seven years or more at three different positions. And it shows up in the one place a manager cannot fake. This is the only franchise in the league whose waiver claims are net positive, plus 239 across nineteen years, against minus 281 for IronCity and minus 945 for Reggie's. Everybody else churns; Pete finds and keeps.
The cost is on the other side of the ledger. Nine draft hits and not a single fifty-point bust in 162 picks, a profile nobody else has, and yet four of the careers that became great somewhere else were his picks first: Gurley, A.J. Green, Kupp, Nacua. The scouting is elite. The letting go is the leak. Twelve top-four finishes and three finals lost say the same thing from the other direction: nearly always there, not always through.
All six positions, in detail. The callout above is the glance.
